New MLDL Lab Student Member: Collin B. Crowthers

The MLDL Lab is pleased to announce that Collin B. Crowthers will be joining us Spring 2021 semester. He is a Sophomore Computer Science major (Concentration: General Computer Science).

Collin's favorite courses are when he can learn something that he can see applications for. For example, it's desiging systems or algorithms in classes. Also, his most memorable programming experience at EKU was on a Java project that he could not debug properly for a while and then realizing there was a more straightforward way to do it. Collin said that he also learned to look at multiple ways to solve a problem and not just come up with one that works.

He is interested in Artificial Intelligence because he said he find the way it is implemented interesting, as well as that it is able to accomplish tasks that previously had no obvious way to solve. By joining the MLDL Lab, he hopes to gain more knowledge about machine learning as well as to know how to apply it in the future.
